What does the future of Opendesk look like in the post covid climate?
The Open is about opening up new modes for designing, making, distributing, and consuming. The desk was a deliberately definitive starting point. When you’re looking at a complex problem (a new model for distributing design data to enable local production) it can be helpful to simplify everything else - in this case the brief (a desk) the manufacturing process (CNC-milling) and the material (standard stock 18mm birch ply).
The Office
working remotely was a trend accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. As working from home is becoming the standard practice the need for portable personal computing will decline with users favoring power over portability, with a growing trend of adapting rooms and spaces in the home into offices.

when will be able to eat out again and socialize there will be a great adaptation to how we eat with one another, especially in cafeterias and schools with a concern of hygiene and social distancing.

As our offices move into the noise of the home can become an issue as well as the future of privacy in the office in regards to sanitation and personal space.

Compact personal desk designed with full ATX and mid towers computers in mind.
It has a large user-friendly cable tray to manage all your peripherals. The notch at the back of the desktop allows your cables to be secured and safe whilst flush against the wall.
A raised platform under the PC tower allows storage of unwanted excess cables, reduces dust intake, and provides better ventilation.
A large spacious desk surface supports multiple monitors, full-size keyboards, and other peripherals in an ergonomic position.
